Kristy + Jon – Married on September 22, 2012 – Certaldo, Italy

This is a special post for us to share :) Not only did Kristy & Jon’s wedding take us all the way to Italy – but it gave us so many experiences, memories, and friendships. Many of you know that we boarded a flight almost 1 month ago to Florence where we would eventually meet up with this lovely couple in the Tuscan countryside. Our trip was absolutely incredible, with so many stories of hilarity that it truly will take an entire blog post of its own to share :) But the most important and significant part of our trip was getting to witness Kristy & Jon’s wedding. Between all of their friends and family, and the amazing support of their coordinator, Simona, these two put together a wedding 5000 miles away from their home in New York… and it was truly amazing. There wasn’t a moment when we weren’t ooooohing and ahhhhhing at the sites, the decor, and the love :) A huge thanks goes out to their amazing friends & family for being so wonderful to work side by side with – and especially to Kristy & Jon, for letting us be a part of it all :) We hope you enjoy a few of our favorites from this amazing day, and stay tuned because eventually – when I can find some time to write a novel about it, our personal photos from the trip will be posted to the blog too :) Enjoy!

Kristy – your smile could outshine a thousand suns :)

Hearing the story behind the book that Kristy gave Jon was one of my favorite moments of the day. It was a book containing all the many reasons why she loves him :)

Ceremony time!

Funicolare = people mover :) It takes you from Certaldo Basso to Certaldo Alto… and one time, it climbed all the way to the top and just as we were about to approach the top station… it decided to fall right back down :) It was a terrifying and also hilarious moment! Needless to say – we were all alright!!

The view from the top… I want to go to there :) Meanwhile, Kristy & Jon had their own personal parade led by the musical wonders of a fantastic accordion player!! Every single bride & groom should have this at their wedding!

Back at the reception, at the Osteria Del Vicario, the decor and the views were breathtaking!

And when it was all over, Loren & I started our trek back down the city towards the people mover which would eventually get us to our car back at the bottom of the city… what an amazing night!!

The following day, we met up with Kristy & Jon in Florence for an After Wedding Session! Here are a few of our favs!

Kristy & Jon – I don’t know where to begin :) I am so glad that our path’s crossed last year and that, as fate would have it, we were graced with the incredible opportunity to document this day for you. I hate to admit it, but if it wasn’t for your wedding – I don’t know if we would have ever gotten out of the US :) I may be a homebody of some sorts but your wedding helped break me free of the safety net :) The trip was one that I will never forget – and your wedding is one that I will cherish forever. By far – one of my favorites of all time :) You two and your family and friends – you are all so wonderful that it makes this job hardly feel like work. You all made us feel so welcomed and at home – thank you! I hope that someday, when we make it out to NYC, we’ll all meet again :)
